Psalm 24
by Burl Horniachek
The earth is Yahweh’s, and all that fill it,
The world, and all that dwell in it.
For he has founded it upon the seas,
And made it firm upon the torrents.
Who will ascend the hill of Yahweh,
And who will stand in his holy place?
One with clean hands and a pure heart
Who has not lifted his soul up to vain things,
Nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive a blessing from Yahweh,
And be declared right by the God of his salvation.
This is the generation of those who seek him,
Who seek the face of Jacob’s God. Selah.
Lift up your heads, you gates!
Be lifted up, you doors of old!
That the King of Glory may come in.
Who is this King of Glory?
Yahweh strong and mighty,
Yahweh mighty in battle.
Who is this King of Glory?
Yahweh of hosts,
He is the King of Glory. Selah.Burl Horniachek is a Canadian teacher, poet and translator, and the editor of To Heaven’s Rim, a major anthology of world Christian poetry.
