Final Chapters by Doris Fiszer Each morning, I watch the sky at dawn. A maple leaf floats in the bird bath. I’m having a life, isn’t that enough? I’m not sure how to get it right. The world is aching as it falls apart. Still, kindness somehow seeps through the fissures. Each winter reveals more frailty. Even at ten below, the breath will rise and fall.
